Philosophy House at 33 Aro Street is a grand, multi-level building, originally built by the Salvation Army more than 100 years ago. It was one of ten Wellington heritage buildings to receive funding for earthquake strengthening in 2017.
Trademark Construction carried out stage one earthquake strengthening of the brick superstructure of the building, which included the main façade of the building, various internal structural walls, and elements within the roof structure.
Project scheduling had to accommodate the school's operational requirements.
We thank Nick Crocker (client representative), Richard Te One (architect), and Tony Singe (structural engineer) for their valuable input.
